The last week has been freaking insane! holy crap! I thought I was going to die. The last week consisted of the Vagina Monologues and VDAY. All week there was a craft fair and bake sale. And there were some amazing items to sell ( I think I spent a total of $25.50 on goodies. It was great. The show happened Friday and Saturday night, and I helped both nights, lots of fun! But I also got up on stage and spoke! SCARY. My palms were sweaty, my hands were shaking, and my legs felt like spaghetti. You know when you are super nervous, and your trying to explain something to a bunch of people and you stumble over one freaking word, then you repeat the word to try to get it out correctly and cannot, so you try one more time and your hands are shaking more and more, and you got this big lump in your throat. (phew, run on sentence, yes I know thank you Shannon.) Yea, that was me. And the word: Appreciative. it was good times. The second night when I got up on the stage I rocked it. Still nervous, but I was clearer, and more confidence I think. I even moved around the stage some. It was great. What was I saying you might be wondering... I was explaining a little bit about the volunteer work that I do with VAS, asking for donations for comfort kit. I can tell you if you're curious, I am not writing all that down here. But we were trying to raise as much money as we could, and raised over $500! The show itself was so good! One of the best that I've seen. I definitely had my favorites: My Angry Vagina, The Vagina Workshop, The Moan, I was in the room, and the new one for this year, The Braid. (again, if you want to know about the different monologues I can tell you in person). The show was great! We made so much money for My Sister's Place and had such a great time! But I am glad it is over, I can breath again, I will hopefully have time to do homework now...
School is going great. I am having tons of fun in my classes and am making the greatest of friends, friends that will help you dispose of a body if need be... I am taking a new class this semester called Women in the City, and this class has spunk! Everyone seems to be really comfortable with each other, and Rona is great! There are also 6 first year women hissers in the class, which makes it even better. I laugh so much more this semester than last, and even getting better at the homework. I read a 400 page book in two days, and a 200 page book the day after that.
Now is the time to prepare for the thesis...ugh! I have to decide, I have to go to the archives, I have to do even more reading and its crazy! Although next year will be only one topic, one item to research and a year to do all the work. which sounds nice. When I pick my topic I will post it, and suggestions and comments are always welcomed.
There is no more snow on the ground! It is so nice to walk outside now! Granted I do kinda miss the snow, seeing my California Honda covered in snow to where it looks like one of those half dipped cookies with chocolate on one side and white icing on the other side. yumm. cookies. But its been staying somewhere between the 40s and 50s. Nice and warm. ;)
The only thing that is missing is Blake. He has my heart with him in California and not a day goes by without him in my thoughts. To think that it has been almost 2 years bring tears to my eyes. I only have a year in a half left before we can start the rest of our lives together. He is my best friend. My love.
