And I'm Spent!

Today was the last day of classes for me. Thats right, everyone, I have finished my first semester at grad school.  And I'll tell you all something, I never thought that I would make it. But, now I have written 45 pages in "conference" papers, I have read around 40 books, and I have written discussion questions for the first time in my life. I think I am getting excited about writing my thesis, in fact I am getting excited about writing again. And its snowing like I have never seen it snow before in my life. There is at least 4 inches of snow on the ground...woo. very exciting. Anyways, I'm pooped, and fly to Cali Monday morning. I plan to do nothing but rest for the next month.
I introduced Mattie to the snow today! It was so much fun! She did not know how to walk in the snow, then I think it even scared her a little bit. hahaha. I then placed her on the stone wall in front of my house, and she almost fell off of it, awww it was adorable. Now she is curled up on my chair, sleeping nice and still.
I dont really have much else to say, but look at the pictures, and merry christmas to everyone, and I hope to see my cali friends once I am in town, remember though I wont have a car, and I wont feel comfortable taking other peoples cars to drive all over southern cali, so visiting me at my grandmas house or in Orange County will be very nice.
Give me a call, I'll be in town as of Monday

makes me sad.

3 Weeks Until the End of the First Semester! OMG!

(aww my friends, I love them, even when they make faces at me)
we do strange things on the subway, okay at least blake does

                                     (g'ma in time square!)

okay aside from the dramatics of the title, I am approaching the end of my first semester at grad school and I never thought I would get here, and I am freaking out! (oh, in a good way of course).

Blake was here last week for Thanksgiving and his birthday (which was awesome), and we had a blast. He even met some of my friends, and they all adored meeting him! We went to cousins of mine for Turkey dinner, well at least Blake ate the turkey. Then to the city for his bday. The plan was to venture into the city hunt down 4 used and new science-fiction/mystery book stores, go to Grey Papaya's for lunch, ice-skating in Bryant Park, and Dinner at a nice Italian restaurant in the Theatre District. Well, we didnt get to do most of those things. 2 of the bookstores were gone, 1 was a children's bookstore, the wait for ice-skating was 45 minutes, (yay right! ever have to wait to go ice skating in Ontario? NO FREAKING WAY!) and well almost all hope was lost, (when we couldnt find the Italian restaurant, and our feet were tired....we found it! Dinner was great, we got free wine, a canole and more free wine with desert, and told from an old lady, "you two are just so cute, do you know that" awww we're cute. The cool part of the day, alone from wandering all over the city with my love, was watching Blake's face light up as we went to Grey's Papaya, and he realized they specialized in hot dogs. Then to see his face light up again when we were in the children's book store and found first edition J.R. Tolkien books, signed and selling from anywhere between 3,000 to 85,000-freaking crazy right! We ended the night watching a movie and falling alseep in each others arms. I miss him so much!

As for the end of the semester. I am finished with my 15 page historiographical essay, (well almost, that is, i meet with my teacher today for editing), and I have one more 6 page paper and my 20 page research paper to write. Its my friends bday this weekend and we are finally going to get mediterranian food in the city with Belly Dancers, woo!
I am to do archival work for the first time ever this weekend too, on Saturday I am going to the Lesbian Herstory Archives in Brooklyn, (get it, her..story?), look out Jessie I am coming to your hood! At his archival place I can get primary research on gay marriage, and changing notions of the family. Sweet! I know you are all excited!

Okay, I am now going to head over to my teachers office so she can edit my paper-yay! I will be home on the 22nd! and hope that I can see most of my old friends.  Oh and my friend Kristin will be coming to cali on jan. 8th just in time to celebrate my birthday, WOo! 28, hear I come!

So....whats the plan for new years? anyone? email me....

I love you all!
