awwww

okay here is a quick post since i dont have time anymore to DO ANYTHING! hehe
life is good. life is busy.

I freaked out on Tuesday that was really only because I felt that I was prepared for this class that I have, turns out I wasn't - this class is crazy hard, and fast paced! I also had no sleep, worked out at the gym for an hour, which rocked...so I was cranky, tired, and freaking out about school

-now you may be wondering-

Im okay, trying to get caught up on my school work, I pretty much am :).  Figuring out how to time manage everything so I feel a little better. Im staying home all weekend to do homework, maybe dinner friday night but who knows....

I feel like I am getting to know more of my "womhis" buddies which makes me happy, and I got a really nice compliment from my boss tonight at work which made me happy :).

and! took mattie to the vet today and she got all her shots and the vet could not stop commenting on how clean mattie is and how apparently close we are! aww my darling little kitty-i guess i am one of those weird cat ladies. eh oh well, Blake's going to marry me one day so he is going to have to deal with it. :)

So now I am sitting at work on my computer, I tried to help grandma with ichat (or video chat on her end), and im reading my book "Imagined Communities" by Benedict Anderson, phew, its a long detailed read.  I have to go home and print up discussion questions that the 5 of us (thats how big this class is) came up with on this book, read through them and find the pages that can help me answer the questions in class tomorrow, heh.  then off to bed to that I can be in that class at 9 am tomorrow morning. Woo!

oh and I am now sleeping with a quilt on my bed and a comforter, thats right fall is coming! Its cold at night, but I now have my gear that my momma sent me, so I'll be nice and snuggly in my new jackets.

okay and now I must read! egh!

I love and miss you all!

How do I find the time?

Okay so I am a day late on updating this here blog-o, but goodness I have been busy!  Orientation was all last week at which time I got to know some of my classmates (which seem to be wonderful!), learn all about the campus rules and regulations including my insurance (which never has dental for students, isn't that interesting), worked on homework for the first day of class (what is that!) and began training for my new job.  All in all it was a nice, busy week. I got drunk for the first time in ages with some comrades from the "womhiss" department, super fun! made jokes, laughed, walked up and down the horrible slc hill! and sweated like crazy during the wonderful days that the humidity was above 60% (what the hell is this california girl doing in the humidity?!) hahaha.  But I am finding some happiness in this strange place.  Yesterday I drove to Trader Joe's in Tukahoe (the next town over I believe) and without using a map or guide of some sort found my way early on that Sunday morning.  The weather was perfect, after the rains and winds from "Hannah" the sky was blue, and the air fresh and crisp with a slight chill.  I almost felt nostalgic as I drove to the store with my window's rolled down listening to the Decemberist album that Blake and I listened to a million times on our road trip.  Afterwards I wandered inside the Borders across the street, where of course they are hiring, and bought some school stuff-almost felt like I was back at home.  Today school actually starts.  My paper is finished, I have posted my comments and now I am trying to finish reading a 200+ page book before tomorrow, I'm on page 101, think I'll make it?  I work from 12-3:30, then meeting at 4, then class from 7-9, phew and maybe even drinks with my classmates afterwards.... This week seems to be starting out nicely, I will fill you in on the rest come next Sunday. :D
I hope everyone has a great week!

"A [squirrel] of a different color"

Okay, okay who gets the reference of the title? Anyone??? I will tell you the answer in the next blog if no one guesses right. (Oh and there is a different animal that goes in place of the squirrel). Thats right there are different colored squirrels, and they are living in harmony...who knew!? There are gray ones, brown ones, and black ones ooh and ones with some mixture. They are awesome! I pass by them all the time when I go on my bike rides. And bikes rides I love. I even took some pictures from this last bike ride, which are above of course. I made it to the waterfall in (I think) Scarsdale, which is either 1 or 2 towns away from Bronxville. AWESOME!

This last week has been tough... Life has been hard without Blake, a routine, and a job. Lauren did say to me I think yesterday or the day before, that this extreme change is never easy and believe me its not. Everyday I feel better though, I do more and go on more adventures. Last week I saw a waterfall, scared an old gay man, bought wine (sold only at special alcohol stores), navigated my way to pet smart without the useful help of the mightly tom tom, umm, made my way to Larchmont to visit second cousins of mine, found out where Trader Jo's is, saw a fancy smanchy clothing store called...are you ready for this all you 909'ers "Fontana's" (hahaha, if only they knew), found a WAMU, and ventured out into this little town of mine and found some neat stores. Oh and almost ran over a chipmunck, and a camel cricket (if you dont know look it up!). I think pretty much its been an okay week. Mattie did get sick again, she got a bad reaction to some vaccinations and had to go the vet's office again. That day was Thursday, and the hardest day of the week. I did not get off the couch unless I was driving to drop her off or pick her up. (of course the Friday and Saturday were no picnic either, I cried almost all day). But now life is picking up. I have started school and I am making friends and apparently picking up homework. Lets just wait until Sunday for the rest of that story....

I miss you all, and Love you all very much
